Is print dead? Stick-a-fork-in-it done? Personally, I have my doubts. But whatever I may think, Rob Young at Search Engine Journal offers evidence that print is diminishing in use and impact. They recently reported that Google will no longer be archiving daily news content for online access, a paid service they provided for smaller publishers. According to Rob, print news is, well, in trouble.

"Print news is dead. No offense, it’s just kind of dead. Like a zombie, it still wanders around hoping to munch on readers and convince people to advertise, but the vast majority of reader attention now goes to the far more accessible and significantly more free online resources."

There's far more to this story, of course, but it's interesting no matter which side of the fence you're on.
