As many of you know, last Friday was Ink Bleeds 3. It was arguably one of the best Cincinnati creative community events this year. We’re allowed to start that rumor, heck, we teamed up with AIGA Cincinnati to make Ink Bleeds 3 happen!

Let’s give a little credit to two Z’s, Keith Neltner and Rob Warnick, who designed the event poster and wrangled 11 local-ish illustrators and designers to display their very best prints. The artists who had prints on display were: Neltner, Rob Warnick, Powerhouse, Tommy Sheehan, Angryblue, Libre, Southpaw, Brian Methe, Cricket Press, YES, and Delicious Design League. It’s true, all the above artists provided prints for a gallery showing as well as prints for sale. Sure, you could visit their sites and buy their work, they would love that very much, but Ink Bleeds put you face to face, interacting, questioning and getting to know them!

You’re probably thinking to yourself, “how much was the event?” Free! Yes, you were exposed to an evening of 11 premier artists, 3 bands and multiple interactive events for the price of parking. There was the option to donate $10 which got you a signed event poster (only 250 available), 2 drink tickets, a raffle ticket and our favorite part–high-five’s from lively AIGA Cincinnati board member (we’ll vouch for one because he’s recently a Z, Mike Ranochak) who coordinated the donation booth.

This years live performances were by Intrinzic’s very own Rob Warnick and his band, The Mighty, as well as performances by Ghost Trees and A Decade to Die For. The bands performed in the Art Academy’s café/performance space and kept the crowd energized and in the buying mood. You were able to enjoy your favorite band, peruse prints and chat with event artists. That’s a win, win, win by our count.

If you were one of the 500+ who joined us, thanks, you’re awesome we’ll see you for Ink Bleeds 4. If not, you have a year or so to free up your schedule. In a sea of 500+ creatives who did you miss? We are happy to mention two important Cincinnati creative’s that were spotted at Ink Bleed 3; Dave Townsend, Intrinzic’s president and Jerry Kathman, LPK’s president. We think it’s important for local companies to be engaged in the community. Congrats Dave and Jerry, you did well.

The Z will be ready for Ink Bleeds 4, will you?
