The Z is proud to support Nature Playscape launch.
As you probably know, given the recent coverage in the local press, the Cincinnati Nature Center has developed a unique nature-inspired play environment for kids of our community. It's called the Nature Playscape, and it was christened yesterday with a special vine-cutting ceremony for the hundreds in attendance. Developed in conjunction with the Arlitt Family Center at the University of Cincinnati, Nature Playscape is an initiative to return children to the kind of safe, unstructured outdoor play that most Americans experienced before the onslaught of organized sports, the internet and digital entertainment. Research has proven that playing in the outdoors, without rules or restrictions, is important for the intellectual and social development of children. At the Nature Playscape at the Cincinnati Nature Center (Rowe Woods facility) children are free to roam the nearly two-acre, enclosed site, and play in the flowing stream, climb trees and boulders, crawl through tunnels, all created in a lifelike natural setting. As for Intrinzic's involvement, we developed the brand identity system used throughout the Playscape's signage and external communication pieces, and are sincerely proud to support this kind of community effort. Our hope is that the Nature Playscape concept will grow and spread across our region and the country, and that every kid will get to experience nature away from a television show or website.
